Lily Johannsen grew up in Wellesley, Massachusetts. From an early age, she created art in as many different mediums as she could find. Following her talent and passion, she majored in Architectural Studies at Connecticut College and started a career in interior design. After a weekend class in silversmithing, Lily became drawn to working with metal and then enrolled in the North Bennet Street School’s two-year Jewelry Making & Repair program, graduating in 2010. Lily now spends her time in her Gloucester, Massachusetts studio, designing and fabricating custom jewelry of all styles, focusing on classic modern designs. Her work consists mostly of sterling silver, yellow gold and rose gold, and often incorporates gemstones for accent and shine. Individual and corporate clients seek Lily’s talent and eye to create custom pieces that showcase her signature mark of clean lines, geometric shapes and repeating patterns. She enjoys working closely with customers, personally handcrafting each piece with close attention to detail and balance, while appreciating the entire process from the design stage to the final inspection. She finds it rewarding to use her hands, brain, and artistic energy to create beautiful pieces of jewelry for others to enjoy. You will find Lily's work prominently displayed at retail shops and trade shows throughout Massachusetts.
